Land Rover unveils the new V8 power Defender reinforcing the brand’s 4×4 family. The new land Rover Defender V8 is a combination of performance, capability and comes with bespoke chassis settings that deliver an engaging drive experience both on-road and off-the-road. The Land Rover Defender V8 now also comes with a new flagship Defender Carpathian Edition with unique design elements and a new Defender XS Edition that replaces the popular Defender First Edition and features tough design elements.
Powering the Defender V8 is a new 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine that is capable of punching out 525 PS of power and 625 Nm of torque that is capable of propelling the large SUV to 240 kmph. 0-100 kmph on the Defender V8 90 can be achieved in just 5.2 seconds while the larger Defender V8 110 takes 5.4 seconds to achieve the same. The power is driven to the wheels using an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Defender V8 also claims to deliver a fuel economy of 14.5l/100km.
The Land Rover Defender V8 comes with a unique suspension and transmission tuning, a new Electronic Active Rear Differential and bespoke spring and damper rates along with the new Dynamic program within the Terrain Response system allowing the SUV to be balanced, fast and engaging on both the tarmac as well as loose surfaces. The Defender V8 also comes with larger diameter solid anti-roll bars, Electronic Active Rear Differential with a Yaw Controller and a highly calibrated Terrain Response 2 system that allows the driver fine control over the SUV even to the limit of grip. Also, the SUV comes with a sharper throttle response thanks to the stiffer suspension bushes as well as provides safety with advanced electronic intervention systems such as Torque Vectoring by Braking technology and Traction Control Systems.
The Land Rover Defender V8 comes with Carpathian Grey, Yulong White and Santorini Black exterior paint options, Shadow Atlas exterior detailing, unique 22-inch alloy wheels with a Satin Dark Grey finish, exterior badging, Xenon Blue brake callipers with 20-inch brake rotors, Bright Pack that features a Noble Chrome finish for the front and rear skid plates as well as a Noble Chrome Grille bar and badging and an Extended Bright Pack that comes with Ceres Silver to the lower body cladding and wheel arches. On the inside, the new Defender also comes with a larger 11.4-inch touchscreen system with Pivi Pro system as an option for the first time.
The Defender XS Edition also comes with bespoke body-coloured lower cladding and lower wheel arches 20-inch diamond-turned alloy wheels with satin grey finish, a Light Grey powder coat brushed finish Cross Car Beam on the inside, Grained Leather seats with memory function, Electronic Air Suspension, Adaptive Dynamics and Configurable Terrain Response matrix headlamps and four exterior colour options – Silicon Silver, Hakuba Silver, Gondwana Stone and Santorini Black.
