Iconic British brand Jaguar Land Rover has announced that it has commenced deliveries on the BS6 compliant petrol versions of the New Range Rover Evoque and New Discovery Sport in the Indian market. Both the Range Rover Evoque and the Discovery Sport are powered by the 2.0-litre Ingenium series petrol engine that conforms to the stringent BS6 emission standards available in ‘S’ and sportier ‘R-Dynamic SE’ trims.
Both the Range Rover Evoque and the Discovery Sport are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 48-Volt Mild-Hybrid system that produces 250 PS of power and 365 Nm of torque matched to an automatic transmission. The New Range Rover Evoque and New Discovery Sport also features such as Cabin Air Ionisation, ClearSight Rear-view Mirror, Touch Pro & Touch Pro Duo infotainment system and Terrain Response 2.
The New Range Rover Evoque and New Discovery Sport with the BS6 compliant P250 Petrol engine are priced at INR 57.99 lakh ex-showroom, India on the Evoque and INR 59.99 lakh ex-showroom, India on the Discovery Sport.
In the international market, Land Rover has introduced the plug-in hybrid powertrains on the Range Rover Evoque and the Discovery Sport badged as the P300e. The PHEV Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport are based on the PTA (Premium Transverse Architecture) platform designed to support electrification as well as retain its off-road capabilities. The PHEV powertrain is designed and manufactured in-house and is based on the Ingenium engine family.
The Range Rover Evoque delivers a 1.4L/100km combined fuel economy according to the WLTP and 32 g/km of combined WLTP carbon emissions with an EV only range of 66 km and a 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds. While the larger 7-seater Discovery Sport delivers 1.6L/100km of combined fuel economy on the WLTP cycle, 36 g/km of combined WLTP carbon emissions and 62 km of EV only range and 0-100km/h in 6.6 seconds. Both SUVs can reach 135 kmph of top speed using only electric power.
