Lamborghini Urus SUV could come to India in 2018

At the launch of their new showroom in Bangalore, Lamborghini has mentioned that the Urus SUV could make it to the Indian streets by 2018.

Previously slated to a market debut in 2017, the project has been slightly delayed. The super-luxury, super-sports SUV will fight against the Bentley EXP 9F and the Range Rover Sport SVR.

The Urus is based on Audi’s MLB platform which also underpins the upcoming second-generation Q7. The Bentley EXP 9F will also be built on the same platform. Engine is expected to be a petrol+electric hybrid motor. Options for the engine are rumoured to be a 4.0L, TwinTurbo V8 from the Audi RS7 or a detuned 5.2L, V10, naturally aspirated motor from the Huracan.

Sharp styling could help find customers easily. Also, Lamborghini has managed to gain strong momentum in India compared to other super-luxury, super-sports products. And the SUV fever in India is always on a high, making the Urus even more lucrative.
