Lamborghini Huracan launching on 22 September

Lamborghini will launch the Huracan supercar in India on 22nd September, 2014. Prices might vary on the 2014 make cars, as they are pre-personalised. For the 2015 make cars, they can be customised based on customer demands.

The Huracan made its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014. It is a successor to the popular and most produced Gallardo and is based on an all-new architecture, which makes use of carbon fibre and hybrid aluminium. This has resulted in a light kerb weight of 1,422 kg.

The Huracan is a mid-engined supercar and is powered by a tweaked version of the Gallardo’s engine. It is powered by a 5.2L, V10, 40 valves motor, which makes use of direct and in-direct injection. It produces 602 BHP of power @ 8,250 RPM and 560 Nm of torque @ 6,500 RPM. Power is delivered to all four wheels using a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Huracan can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds and 0-200 kmph is 9.9 seconds. Manufacturer claimed top speed for the supercar is in excess of 325 kmph. Since a few of us might want this figure to be disclosed, fuel consumption is rated at 17.8L / 100 km.

The supercar has a ground clearance of 135mm, which can be raised to 175mm to tackle Indian road conditions. With the raised ground clearance, it can travel up to 70 kmph.

It is made at the facility in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. The supercar will be available for sale in India at three locations – Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
