KTM’s MotoGP bike spied

Finally, we have eyes on KTM’s RC16, which will join the MotoGP paddock for the 2017 season.

The bike was spied being tested at the Red Bull ring in Austria. The brand is also developing a V4 MotoGP platform motorcycle that will be open for public to purchase.

The brand also recently signed Mika Kallio as its test rider, who will be giving inputs in the development of the RC16. The bike will have many similarities with the existing MotoGP bikes. The front intake and the exhaust is quite similar to Honda’s RC213V. The RC16 stands out with its steel trellis frame. The bike gets similar 17’’ wheels and carbon fibre discs. The braking is developed by Brembo and the suspension is of course being handled by WP suspension.

KTM and Red Bull working together have already tasted success in Moto3. It will be interesting to see the duo join hands in the big race, not to mention to see the RC16 compete against Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Ducati.
