The 790 Duke has received a few updates from KTM for 2025. In these updates, the primary modifications are new colours and features. With the exception of complying with the most recent Euro 5+ emission standards, the 790 Duke’s mechanical specifications are unchanged.
There are five riding modes available: Rain, Street, Sport, Track, and Performance. The last two are optional additions. However, the main upgrade on the 790 Duke is the new 5-inch TFT display, which is a feature of other large-capacity KTMs like the 990 Duke. It also gets a new backlit switchgear, which was also inspired by previous KTM large bikes. Through the KTM connect app, this dash provides Bluetooth connectivity. A USB-C charger is also available. The two new colour options – a more subdued black and the iconic KTM orange are the most noticeable visual changes.
A bidirectional quick-shifter, multi-level traction control, and ABS settings are also included with the 790. Similar to all large KTMs, the 790 Duke has a Demo mode that allows you to use all of the electronics for the first 1,500 kilometres before charging extra to unlock the remaining parts.
Due to its high initial cost and poor after-sales service, the 790 Duke, which was introduced to India in small quantities in 2019 just before the BS6 regulations took effect, did not significantly impact its class. It appears unlikely that the upgraded 790 Duke will make its debut in India, where KTM recently returned to the major bike market with four models.
The bike’s remaining components are unaltered. In Europe, the 799cc twin-cylinder engine generates 95 hp and 87 Nm, whereas in other regions, it produces 105 hp. This variant makes it possible to limit the 790 Duke to more recent European riders who hold A2 licenses.
