KTM has officially revealed the 390 Adventure & 790 Adventure R for the Indian market at the India Bike Week 2019. Both these bikes are expected to go on sale in 2020 and would open up the premium adventure touring segment for the brand. The 390 Adventure will share plenty of parts with the 390 Duke and likewise, the 790 Adventure R will have a few stuff from the 790 Duke.
Powering the 390 Adventure motorcycle will be a 373.2cc motor which we know is a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected block with ride-by-wire producing 43 HP of peak power and 37 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike rides on a light weight steel trellis chassis with a die cast open lattice swingarm. The 390 Adventure sports a 43mm USD APEX front suspension with 170mm travel and the WP Apex rear monoshock allows for a 177mm travel. The bike will get alloy wheels, not spoked rims. Other features will include dual-channel ABS with cornering ABS + off-road ABS modes. There will also be a quickshifter+ for upshift & downshift along with traction control with lean angle sensitivity. The motorcycle will have 200mm ground clearance.
Other features include LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, 14.5L fuel tank, full-colour TFT display, split seats, large pillion grab rials, wind clear windscreen, tough knuckle guards, engine sump guard, knobby tyres, etc.
KTM will offer the 390 Adventure in 2 body colour options white+black and orange+black.
The KTM 790 Adventure R will be powered by a 799cc, 94 HP of power @ 8000 RPM and 88 Nm of toruqe @ 6600 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has a dry weight of 189 kg. The R variant is off-road specific with spoked rims. The mileage claim is 4.19L/100km. Features of the motorcycles include a slipper-assist clutch, 240mm front & rear suspension travel, 320mm front disc, 260mm rear disc, 263mm ground clearance, 880mm seat height, 20l fuel tank capacity, split+contoured seats, clear front windscreen, LEd headlamp & tail lamp, full digital dashboard, etc.
