KTM has launched the most awaited motorcycles, the RC200 and RC390 in India at a price of Rs. 1.60 lakh and Rs. 2.05 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Similar to the pricing strategy on the Duke range of motorcycles, these are introductory prices and we can expect them to increase in a couple of months. Bikes can be booked for an amount of Rs. 30,000.
The KTM RC series motorcycles are nothing but faired siblings of the Duke range of motorcycles, the RC200 gets the Duke 200 engine, and similarly, the RC390 gets the Duke 390 engine. The bikes look worlds apart compared to their duke siblings. With a very track focused and committed riding position, the RC series of motorcycles look very sporty compared to the upright, touring friendly Dukes.
The RC200 and RC390 get a full fairing and supersport styling with split and step-up seats. At the front, you get a twin projector headlamp setup and wide rear view mirrors with integrated turn indicators. You also get LED DRLs on both the bikes. Just like the Dukes, the RC series also has a underbelly exhaust which is neatly covered by the fairing for better aerodynamics. On the side, the exposed orange Trellis frame and the orange rims are standard on both the bikes. They also get a unique body integrated pillion seat which poses like a cowl. Both the bikes also get forged aluminium triple clamp handlebars and a upside down WP fork.
The RC200 is powered by a 199.5cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder motor producing 25 PS of power @ 10,000 RPM and 19.2 Nm of torque @ 8,000 RPM. Engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission and gets liquid cooling and a Bosch EFI. The bike weighs 147.5 kg without fuel. The RC200 is shod with MRF tyres with a 150mm section at the back and a 110mm section at the front. The RC200 does not get ABS.
The RC390 is powered by a 373.27cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid cooled motor producing 43.5 PS of power @ 9,000 RPM and 35 Nm of torque @ 7,000 RPM. Engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission and gets a Bosch EFI. The bike weighs 159.5 kg without fuel. The RC390 is shod with the super grippy Metzeler Sportec tyres with a 150mm section at the rear and a 110mm section at the front. The RC390 gets ABS as standard, which can be turned off.
Both the RC200 and RC390 also get a unique decal kit as a customised variant.
