KTM launches 390 Duke & RC 390 with BS6 engine & gets Quickshifter+

KTM has launched the 2020 model year 390 Duke and RC 390 in India which is popularly known as the ‘corner rocket’. The 2020 KTM 390 Duke has been launched at the price of INR 2,52,928 ex-showroom, Delhi. The 2020 KTM 390 Duke comes in all-new colours and new graphic design – Silver Metallic & Ceramic White. The 2020 BSVI compliant KTM 390 Duke is priced at INR 2,52,928 ex-showroom, Delhi which is INR 4,716 more expensive than the BSIV model which was priced at INR 2,48,212 ex-showroom, Delhi. On the other hand, the KTM RC 390 BSVI model is priced at INR 2,48,075 ex-showroom, Delhi and the BSIV model was priced at INR 2,44,014 ex-showroom, Delhi which shows a price change of INR 4,061. 

KTM has upgraded the MY2020 390 Duke with a Quickshifter+ as a standard part of the pack. The Quickshifter+ is a bi-directional Quickshifter which enables the rider to both upshift and downshift without using the clutch lever, making gear shifts quicker with minimal loss of time and power that occurs when the clutch lever is pulled in during conventional clutch + gear shifting. 

The powerplant on the KTM 390 Duke is a BSVI emission compliant 373.3cc, single-cylinder, 4-Valve, Liquid-Cooled, Fuel-Injected, DOHC motor that produces 43.5 PS of power @ 9,000 rpm and 37 Nm of torque @ 7,000 rpm mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist & slipper clutch. The chassis on the 390 Duke is a Split Steel Trellis Frame with 43mm diameter WP Open Cartridge forks on the front and a WP-Monoshock on the rear. The stopping power on the 390 Duke comes from a 320mm single disc with 4-piston fixed caliper on the front wheel and a 230mm single disc with a single-piston floating caliper on the rear along with a Bosch dual-channel ABS with SuperMoto mode as standard. Other features include ride-by-wire throttle, TFT colour display and full LED headlamps. 

The KTM RC 390 which is the Race Competition derivative of the 390 Duke replicates its engine technical specifications minus the Quickshifter+. The RC 390 weighs in at 166.8 kgs (W/O Fuel) and has a smaller 9.5-litre fuel tank as compared to the 390 Duke which has a larger 13.5-litre fuel tank and is also lighter than the RC 390 and weighs in at 163 kgs (W/O fuel).
