KTM India has launched its latest adventure bike, the KTM 890 Adventure R, at a price of INR 15.80 lakh. This comes following the launch of the flagship 1290 Super Adventure S.
The KTM 890 Adventure R is powered by a 889cc parallel-twin engine, derived from the 890 Duke R, delivering 103.2 bhp and 100 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, featuring a quickshifter and a slipper clutch for smooth and efficient power delivery. The bike offers multiple ride modes, traction control, and ABS modes, including off-road ABS, catering to various riding conditions.
The bike features a tall stance and muscular bodywork, inspired by KTM’s Dakar racing motorcycle. The split LED headlight with boomerang-shaped DRLs and a large visor adds to its rugged and aggressive look. The Adventure R is equipped with a 5-inch TFT display, offering smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and music control, and other essential features.
The front suspension consists of WP Apex 43mm USD forks, while the rear suspension features a WP Apex monoshock, both adjustable for a comfortable ride on various terrains. The braking system includes a 320mm dual disc at the front and a 267mm disc at the rear, providing reliable stopping power.
Priced at INR 15.80 lakh, the Adventure R competes with other adventure bikes in the Indian market, such as the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE and the BMW F 900 GS. With its powerful engine, advanced electronics, and rugged design, the 890 Adventure R sure has an edge over the competition.
The KTM 890 Adventure R will be available at KTM’s flagship dealerships across India. It will be available in one variant. Customers can get a lower seat as an option.
