KTM India showcased the 890 Adventure R at the India Bike Week 2022 in Goa. It is being displayed alongside a slew of other KTM motorcycles.
On display at the KTM stall at IBW are a fantastic range of READY TO RACE international bikes thus creating a flutter among biking aficionados. Enthusiasts got a chance to see a range of iconic KTM machines. This includes Brad Binder’s KTM RC 16, which has won the MotoGP seven times and taken ten podiums. It also showcased Matthias Walkner’s KTM 450 Rally – the king of Dakar. Others were the 1290 SUPERDUKE R, 890 ADVENTURE R, 890 Duke GP, and of course the incredibly popular 390 DUKE, the corner rocket.
Featuring a thorough off-ready look, the KTM 890 Adventure gets a vertically stacked split LED headlight. With that, we see an integrated smoked windscreen. It also comes equipped with handlebar guards and a belly pan for added protection. Powering the KTM ADV is an 889cc LC8c parallel twin motor. The output figures read as 103bhp and 100Nm. The motor uses a six-speed gearbox nestled in a steel tube frame. WP front forks and a WP monoshock with compression and rebound adjustability take up the suspension duties.
On the feature front, the KTM 890 is a no-slouch either. It gets all the basic necessities as per the 2022 standards. The motorcycle features a TFT screen to toggle through various rider aids. This includes traction control, ABS, ride modes and more. However, the 2023 model now also gets an updated instrument console. This gets smartphone connectivity and more features than before.
As of now, we understand KTM India has displayed the 890 Adventure R only to gauge the audience’s attention. We do not have any official statements from KTM regarding the motorcycle. Thus, we can’t say for sure if the motorcycle will make it onto our shores.
