KTM 390 Enduro R – what is it?

KTM recently introduced the 2025 model of the 390 Adventure in India. However, the plans are yet not completed as KTM now awaits to launch its 390 Enduro R in March. It is a more off-road-centric motorcycle that is based on the 390 Adventure itself.

The major change on the Enduro R is that it uses cycle parts that make it easy to ride on off-road trails. For example, it rides on tube tyres with spoke rims. The front tyre is 21-inch in size, while the rear is an 18-inch wheel.

Meanwhile, the suspension duties will be done by the fully adjustable WP USD forks at the front and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. The suspension travel of this combo stands at 230mm while the ground clearance is a massive 260mm.

The features list includes a 4-inch TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, riding modes, traction modes, SMS/call alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, music controls, and more.

Powering the Enduro R is the same 399cc liquid-cooled LC4 engine as used on the 390 Adventure. This engine generates 45.3 bhp of peak power and 39 Nm peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission with a slipper-assist clutch.

The expected price of the Enduro R will be in the range of Rs 3.3 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh, ex-showroom.

Our verdict

KTM has been struggling with bankruptcy globally. However, the Indian operations of the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer are safe as it is backed up by Bajaj. Speaking of the Enduro R, it will be a good rival to the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan Raid which is scheduled to launch in early 2026.
