KTM 390 Adventure X Review

Last year KTM introduced the 390 Adventure’s entry-level variant called KTM 390 Adventure X. The 390 Adventure X looses on electronic features as well as gets a slightly different suspension but saves a lot of pocket change. Compared to the top-spec KTM 390 Adventure SW, the 390 Adventure X is more than INR 80,000/- more affordable.

Well, that’s a lot of money to accessorise your 390 Adventure X as well as plan a long trip. While you do a lose on a lot of electronic equipment you do get the same Dakar inspired Chassis and KTM’s venerable motor. Below is a comprehensive review of the KTM 390 Adventure X.

KTM 390 Adventure X – What Features Does it Miss Out?

The KTM 390 Adventure X misses-out on electronic features such as Riding Modes, Quickshifter+ and MTC (Motorcycle Traction Control). The motorcycle also misses-out on Cornering ABS but KTM offers a standard dual-channel ABS but without a 6-axis Inertia Measuring Unit. The bike also comes with an LCD dash display instead of a TFT screen. The front suspension also features WP Big-Piston forks instead of the open-cartridge front forks.

KTM 390 Adventure X – Engine Specifications

Powering the KTM 390 Adventure X is a 373.27 cc single-cylinder, 4-valve liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine. The engine produces 43.5 PS of power and 37 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox. The 390 Adventure X gets a WP Apex USD BP 43mm front fork with 170mm of travel and WP Apex mono shock on the rear with 177mm of travel. The bike also comes with a Dakar inspired Trellis frame and a 14.5-litre fuel tank for 400+ km range.

KTM 390 Adventure X – Features

The KTM 390 Adventure X comes with features such as Ride-by-Wire throttle and Offroad ABS. The bike also gets LED headlamp and taillamp as well. The motorcycle also comes with a 12V socket to help keep devices charged on long distance travels. The KTM 390 Adventure X also comes with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels shod in dual sport tubeless tyres. KTM offers the 390 Adventure X in two colour options – Dark Galvano and Electronic Orange.
