The KTM 390 Adventure V is finally here. This is the new, low-seat-height variant of the standard motorcycle. We are aware that the motorcycles have already begun reaching dealerships. The motorcycle will retail in the price range of INR 3.38 lakh which is the same as the standard motorcycle. But we understand that KTM hasn’t officially launched the 390 Adventure V yet. But as per reports, we hear that the motorcycle is now available for purchase at several dealerships.
The key change in the KTM 390 Adventure was addressing the big issue that short riders faced in the standard KTM 390 Adventure’s 855mm seat height. The company has now managed to decrease the seat height on the 390 Adventure V to 830mm. This results in a significant drop of 25mm thus making the motorcycle more accessible to short riders.
KTM has managed to achieve this by fitting a new suspension setup with reduced travel at both ends. Thus, the suspension travel in the V trim is lower than the 170mm (front)/177mm (rear) travel of the standard motorcycle. Consequently, the ground clearance has also been reduced but KTM confirmed that it is not by much.
The perfect customer segment for the KTM 390 Adventure V is short riders. They couldn’t get the KTM 390 Adventure due to its seat height as the 855mm sea was a dealbreaker. But now this ‘V’ variant is more accessible. There are some compromises with regard to ground clearance which will hamper the motorcycle’s off-road ability to some extent. But, as an overall package, the 390 V is as capable a highway mile muncher as the standard bike.
The main takeaway is the low-seat-height version of the 390 Adventure. Meanwhile, there’s no compromise in terms of features as well. As the motorcycle comes loaded with all the bells and whistles that we get on the standard model.
