Komaki plans to set up largest P2P EV charging network

Komaki is preparing itself to set up India’s largest P2P EV charging network. As part of this, INR 25 crore will be invested in installing a total of 45,000 charging points during 18 months. As per plans, this will schedule to commence in July 2022 and the target is to complete the set-up by the end of December 2023. Komaki claims it to become the largest P2P network equipped with smart and user-friendly features to cater to the needs of EV owners.

Komaki Charging Infrastructure

The EV maker also confirmed that it will offer its consumers two free charging point options. The bigger point is a multi-purpose charge point for bikes, cars, and three-wheelers, while the smaller point is only for electric 2-3 wheelers. Customers can install the charging point anywhere. Outside their apartment, nearby commercial buildings or at a petrol pump or EV charging station as well. These ports can then charge any electric vehicle. And the buyer who has installed the port can make a small margin of profit out of it. Komaki mentioned that the concept is already in the testing phase. Furthermore, the company aims to further spread the EV charging network through the process.

Scan, Pay, Charge

To add to the convenience, Komaki has simplified all things through a 3-step easy process – Scan, Pay, Charge. Customers can track their EV’s power consumption through Energy Metre, a unique feature embedded in every charging panel. In addition to this, the customers can also track the nearest charging point using Komaki mobile app. Other key features of the P2P charging panels are OTA Updates, for software updates and protecting the system from viruses. There is also surge protection which is for keeping the vehicle safe against fluctuations and price calculator for time-bound pricing. Komaki has some big plans to leverage the growing demand for electric mobility in the country.
