We know that the fourth-gen Carnival and Sorento are a part of Kia’s Auto Expo 2023 line-up. Besides production cars, Kia will also showcase the EV9 electric SUV concept at the upcoming event. The EV9 is Kia’s way forward as a flagship pure-electric SUV. The EV first made its debut at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show.
What Is The Kia EV9?
The EV9 uses the Electric Global Modular Platform (e-GMP). Adorning a boxy design with a flat roof and flared wheel arches, the car is pretty attractive. The front part gets a blanked-out grille with the ‘Star Cloud’ light pattern. Meanwhile, for the rear, we get funky LED tail lights. The car uses 22-inch wheels. Hyundai’s counterpart of Kia’s EV9 is the Ioniq 7 concept. Upon close scrutiny, the Kia EV9 concept looks like a buff version of the Kia Soul EV on steroids.
Test Mules Already Spotted For Kia Ev9
Test mules of production-spec version Kia EV9 have already been spotted in South Korea. Most of the boxiness and butch appeal remains the same for the production-spec model. As mentioned, we also had a glimpse of this large barge of an SUV at the LA Auto Show 2021. Kia is now all prepared to showcase at the Kia Motors pavilion at the 2023 Auto Expo.
What’s On The Inside?
On the Inside of the EV9. We get to see a slew of modern features as per 2022 standards. This includes a large 27-inch ultra-wide display. This integrates the digital instrument cluster and the central infotainment system.
Charging And Battery Details
According to the company, the EV9 can travel close to 483 km on a single charge. This is quite a headline statement from Kia. The company claims that the battery is compatible with next-gen ultra-fast charging. With this, it can replenish the battery from 10-80 per cent in just 20-30 minutes.
