Kia is testing a new compact SUV for the Indian market. Earlier, the brand was spotted testing the car in the international market where it could be named Clavis. However, in India Kia is likely to christen the SUV as Syros. New spy shots also reveal that the compact SUV could be under trails in India and may be getting ready for its introduction soon. Furthermore, reports reveal that the Syros could slot between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia’s India portfolio.
While its exterior design has been heavily camouflaged, we could only deduce that the Syros is likely to come with a boxy silhouette with vertically oriented headlamps, and an upright fascia. But, the latest reports reveal that the SUV is likely to come with a two-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel which has not been available on any Kia model in the Indian market. In addition to this, the Syros is also likely to come with an offset Kia emblem. Furthermore, the Syros could also get dual-screen displays on the dashboard similar to the Seltos. This is likely to include a 10.25-inch driver’s display as well as a 10.25-inch touchscreen instruments cluster. In addition to this, the Syros is also likely to get hot keys below the touchscreen which may include a volumes rocker that adds to the ease of use.
The Kia Syros is likely to come with features such as all-LED lighting, LED DRLs and a connected taillamp. In addition to this, the SUV is also likely to come with diamond cut alloy wheels, roof rails as well as a panoramic sunroof. Furthermore, the interiors are also likely to come with powered and ventilated front seats, an automatic climate control AC, leatherette upholstery, Bose audio system, connected tech as well as Drive and Traction Control modes. Powering the Syros are likely to be two powertrain options – an ICE which could come with a front wheel drive and a fully electric version. Reports also suggest, that the Kia Syros could come with a hybrid engine option in the future.
Expect the Kia Syros to come with a price tag of around INR 10 lakh ex-showroom.
