Kia Sonet is India’s favourite compact-SUV, 11,417 units sold in November 2020

Kia Sonet has become an instant favourite in the Indian market. It has even overtaken the sales figure of its sibling, Hyundai Venue. Kia’s sales figure stood at 21,022 units for the month of November and it is 50% more than what it stood in the same month last year. A total of 11,417 units of the Sonet were dispatched whereas the figure for Seltos stood at 9,205 units. This made them the 4th largest car manufacturer in India with Maruti Suzuki topping the chart selling 1,37,700 units, followed by Hyundai with 48,800 units and then Tata Motors with a total of 21,600 units sales for the month of November 2020.

Kia Sonet was the brand’s second Made-In-India car after the Seltos. The design language is in tune with today’s ever-evolving world. The signature tiger nose grill is neatly integrated with the crown jewel LED headlamps which also get day time running lights, front & rear skid plates, dual mufflers, a connected reflector garnish connecting the tail lamps and much more. When the interiors are concerned, Kia has loaded it with a ton of features. It gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, premium BOSE 7-speaker system with a sub-woofer, multiple driving modes, tyre pressure monitoring system, front parking sensors and much more.

The safety features included are six airbags, anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control, hill-start assist control, vehicle stability management, brake assist, front & rear parking sensors, projector fog lamps, isofix child seat anchoring system along with other automotive industry-standard features.

The engine options are two petrol motors; 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and 1.0-litre turbocharged. Meanwhile, there is only one diesel engine, 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo. There are a total of four gearbox options on offer; Manual, iMT (Clutchless Manual), DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) and Torque Converter Automatic. Kia is all pumped up to improve its after-sales service to attract more customers and is planning to add more showrooms and service centres in the 2nd and 3rd tier cities across the country.
