Kia Seltos Gravity version revealed in South Korea

Kia has revealed the new top-end trim of the popular Kia Seltos SUV in the South Korean market called ‘Gravity’ which features refreshed exteriors as well as a trim specific interior but carries forward the same SmartStream 1.6 turbo-petrol and 1.6 diesel powertrain options with 7DCT gearbox. Being the top-end variant the Seltos Gravity also packs added safety features, as compared to the lower – Trend, Prestige and Signature trims.

On the exteriors, the Kia Seltos Gravity features a new design grille with three-dimensional geometric chrome studs along with its signature knurled bezel with the Tiger-Nose design, a new design 18-inch black with machine-finish alloy wheels, new silver-finished ORVMs, silver-finished door claddings and silver-finished skid plates. Other exterior highlights are vertically oriented fog lamps, squarish wheel arches, raised bonnet ridges, chrome window beltline, silver-finished roof rails, LED combination tail lamps, chrome tailgate embellishments and a tailgate-mounted spoiler. 

On the inside, the Seltos Gravity comes with exclusive grey interiors with honeycomb-patterned perforated seat upholstery finished in grey along with the door armrests. It is also worthy to note that the dashboard on the Korean-spec left-hand driver Seltos features an island-style central infotainment system and recessed instruments cluster unlike the binnacle dashboard with twin displays on the same plane on the Indian right-hand driven model. 

The Kia Seltos Gravity is powered by a 1.6-litre Turbo-Petrol engine that produces 177 Hp of power and a 1.6-litre Turbo-Diesel engine that makes 136 Hp of power, both matched to an automatic 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) gearbox as standard and optional four-wheel drivetrain. In the Indian market, the Kia Seltos is powered by a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol that produces 140 PS of power and 242 Nm of torque available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox, 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol motor which produces 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an automatic CVT gearbox and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine produces 115 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter type automatic gearbox.

While the brand has not announced the Seltos Gravity for the Indian market speculations are that the variant could come as a special edition model here in India. The brand has also announced that it has sold a total of 7275 units pan India out of which 7114 units are of the popular Seltos and 161 units of the Carnival premium MPV for the month of June 2020, sold pan India.
