Kia Seltos gets more automatic variants in India

Kia Motors has recently expanded its Seltos lineup in India with the addition of two new automatic variants. The Seltos, first introduced in August 2019 and later refreshed with a mid-cycle facelift on 2023, has established itself as one of the best-selling compact C-segment SUVs in the country.

Kia Seltos HTK+ goes auto

The new automatic variants, part of the HTK+ trim, are now the most affordable automatic options in the Seltos range. The Seltos will now be available in the HTK+ petrol CVT and HTK+ diesel AT variants, priced at INR 15.40 lakh and INR 16.90 lakh (both prices ex-showroom), respectively.

The petrol variant, HTK Plus iVT, is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 114 bhp of power and 144 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel variant, HTK Plus AT, is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo diesel engine that produces 115 hp and 250 Nm of torque.

Cheapest Seltos Automatic?

These new variants undercut the HTX petrol automatic, the previous cheapest automatic variant, by INR 1.20 lakh and INR 1.30 lakh for the diesel HTX diesel automatic. In terms of features, the HTK plus Automatic variants come equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, smart key with engine start-stop button, automatic climate control, LED headlights with DRLs, electrically folding ORVMs, steering-mounted controls, rear defogger, rear wiper and washer, and cruise control.

Kia Motors has been continuously updating the SUV to stay competitive in the market. The introduction of these new variants is expected to further increase the popularity and customer base for the SUV. The Seltos is priced between INR 10.89 lakh and INR 20 lakh (ex-showroom) and competes with other popular SUV models like the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
