Kia has unveiled the new X Project that the brand has been teasing recently. When Kia released the teaser, we speculated that Kia could be planning to launch the Seltos X Line. The brand showcased the X Line in the concept form at the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi. Now, Kia has put an end to the hypothesis and introduced the production version of the Seltox X Line.
Kia will position the Seltos X Line as a top-of-the-line variant in the Seltos portfolio. The brand will place the X Line trim Seltos higher than the GT Line, but the equipment list will be similar to the GT Line. However, the X Line will come with a special dark theme and a bespoke exterior paint theme. The paint theme will be identical to the one displayed at the Auto Expo 2020. Also, the X Line will not be a limited edition model, but the brand is likely to retain the trim permanently.
The Kia Seltos X Line will come with features such as a Matte Graphite paint job with piano black accents and orange trims. The SUV features a gloss black bezel on the grille, gloss black fog lamp housing and gloss black skid plate. The skid plate also features an orange accent to add sporty credentials to the SUV. The orange lines also appear on the side sills and the rear bumper. The A-pillar also gets a gloss black finish, and the X Line comes with first-in-segment 18-inch Crystal Cut Matte Graphite alloy wheels.
On the inside, the Seltos X Line comes with Indigo Pera Leatherette upholstery with a honeycomb pattern. Other details are carried over from the Seltos GT Line, such as a voice-controlled sunroof and Smart Pure Air. Other features include 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment with navigation and UVO connect features. The car will also feature a 7-inch instruments cluster and an 8-inch heads-up display. Also, expect ventilated and power seats along with Bose premium sound system.
The Seltos X Line is likely to remain mechanically unchanged. The SUV will come with a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 140 Hp of power and 242 Nm of torque. Optionally the SUV will also come with a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine that makes 115 Hp of power and 250 Nm of torque. The petrol engine comes with a 7-speed DCT gearbox, while the oil motor is offered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
