Kia Motors India now becomes Kia India. The South Korean car manufacturer chose to drop the ‘Motors’ from its name. This signifies the brand’s transition from becoming an enterprise to more than just vehicles. Under this new name, Kia as an enterprise will aim to develop a long-range of sustainable mobility solutions.
The company has also introduced a new logo under this rebranding initiative. The new logo and name will appear at its manufacturing facility in Anantapur and its dealership in a phase-wise manner. The new tagline that reads ‘Movement that Inspires’ further accentuates Kia’s new brand identity.
Kia had celebrated this rebranding in a grand manner in South Korea at the start of this year. And India is the only country other than South Korea where this relaunch is happening. Indeed, Kia plans to launch a host of new products for the country, where it has done so well in a relatively much lesser time. In just over one and half years of its operation here in India, Kia is already the fourth most sold car brand. In addition to this, Kia also boasts of being the fastest car maker to achieve a 2,50,000 sales figure in the country. This goes a long way in proving the brand’s dedication to the Indian market.
At the start of this month, Kia announced the launch of the updated Seltos and Sonet. Along with the new logo, both the top-selling SUVs come with some updated features. Given the rising competition in the SUV segment in India, Kia has updated features in both models to make them more appealing to the customers. The partnership of Kia and Hyundai is being touted as the next big thing for the Indian automotive sector. Both these Korean car manufacturers dominate the SUV segment with the likes of Creta, Venue, Sonet and Seltos. With the future of mobility being electric, we are sure Kia will soon make its mark in this segment.
