Kia Caren’s 1 year of sales in India
Since launch, the Kia Carens has put 76,904 units on the road. This means the car had an average sales of close to 6,000 units per month. This is the fourth product from Kia’s line-up and has already positioned itself as a value for money offering for modern families. The car offers comfort of a family hauler while offering the sportiness of an SUV. Infact, in CY2022, the car sold 62,756 units, making into the top 10 list of UVs sold for the year.
Since launch, Kia has become one of the top car makers in the Indian automobile industry. Since its inception in August 2019, the Korean company has sold more than 6.75 lakh cars in the domestic market and exported 1.9 Lakh. The exports went to 95 countries. This rapid adoption of Kia cars translated to the evolved choice of customer preference towards the brand.
Kia to discontinue diesel manual option?
In other news, the carmaker could discontinue the diesel manual variants of Kia Seltos, Sonet and Carens. We are not sure why Kia opted to do this. One of the reasons could be the popularity of the IMT gearbox. With customers favouring it over conventional manual transmission, Kia could offer IMT and automatic options with diesel instead of the regular manual offering.
