With the launch just a few days left, Hyundai has shared the new Verna’s dimensions and features. The new Verna sedan will most likely go on sale by the end of March, with deliveries likely to start by mid-April.
New Hyundai Verna Longer Than Before
With the revealed figures, the new Verna is bigger than the outgoing car. This gives the Verna slightly more room and moves slightly higher in the segment. This will help to fill the gap left by the now-discontinued Elantra sedan.
As far as dimensions go, the new Hyundai Verna measures 4,535mm long, 1,765mm wide and 1,475mm high. These figures make it longer and wider than the outgoing car. Hyundai has kept the same height as before. In addition to this, the boot capacity has also increased. Currently, it stands at 528 litres, which is 50 litres more than its predecessor.
Apart from the dimensions, Hyundai India revealed details on some of the features. This list includes a unique phone holder for the front passenger, a multi-purpose console and a cooled glove box. The new Verna will also benefit from a dual-tone beige and black interior theme, while higher variants will have leatherette interiors.
New Hyundai Verna Engine And Delivery Schedule
Customers can have the Hyundai Verna with two petrol engine options and have dropped the diesel engine. The low-spec variants will continue to get the naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine. Meanwhile, the higher variants will get the new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. Gearbox choices for the Verna include a six-speed manual as standard for both engines. In addition to this, there’s also CVT and DCT available as an option for the 1.5 NA and 1.5 turbo, respectively.
Hyundai India has also already produced the new Verna for the Indian and export markets at its Chennai plant. As per reports, we believe that the deliveries could begin by mid-April. Meanwhile, the top-spec 1.5 turbo-petrol DCT-equipped variants are in high demand.
