Kia India sold 24,351 cars in October 2023

In October 2023, the Kia Seltos emerged as the top-selling model in India for Kia, while the Sonet and Carens also made substantial contributions to the company’s sales figures. Kia India reported a 4.41 percent year-on-year (YoY) and a 21.62 percent month-on-month (MoM) increase in sales during October, marking the company’s fourth-highest monthly domestic sales. Total sales reached 24,351 units, a 4.41 percent YoY increase from the 23,323 units sold in October 2022 and a significant jump from the 20,022 units sold in September 2023.

Festive Season To Boost Sales Further

Strong sales during the festive season, combined with heightened demand for the recently updated Seltos facelift, were the driving forces behind the company’s impressive sales performance in October 2023. The Kia India lineup, which currently includes the Seltos, Sonet, Carens, and EV6, saw the Seltos leading the way as the best-selling model in the past month. Sales of the Seltos reached 12,362 units, marking a substantial 26.44 percent increase compared to the 9,777 units sold in October 2022. This represented a volume growth of 2,585 units, with the Seltos accounting for an impressive 50.77 percent share in the company’s lineup. Additionally, it saw a noteworthy 52.73 percent MoM growth from the 10,558 units sold in September 2023, equating to a volume increase of 1,804 units. The 2023 Kia Seltos underwent updates in July 2023, offering enhanced passenger comfort and safety features.

The Kia Sonet secured the second position in the lineup, with sales of 6,493 units. Although this marked a 14.72 percent YoY decline from the 7,614 units sold in October 2022, it represented a significant 30.28 percent MoM growth over the 4,984 units sold in September 2023. The Sonet currently holds a 26.66 percent share in the company’s portfolio.

The Kia Carens took the third spot in terms of sales, with 5,355 units sold in October 2023. This represented a 2.26 percent YoY decrease compared to the 5,479 units sold in the same month last year. However, MoM sales improved by 23.67 percent from the 4,330 units sold in September 2023. Additionally, the company sold 141 units of the EV6 in the last month, a slight decrease from the 152 units sold in October 2022 and a 9-unit MoM decline from the 150 units sold in September 2023.

It’s worth noting that Kia India previously offered the Carnival full-size MPV, but it has been discontinued due to lower demand. Kia India also reported total sales of 2,19,702 units in the current calendar year until October 2023. From January to October 2023, the company sold 83,250 units of the Seltos, 73,333 units of the Sonet, and 60,817 units of the Carens MPV. Kia India’s upcoming launch includes the Sonet facelift, which has been extensively spied and showcases various feature updates.
