Kia India sold 22,322 cars in August 2022

Kia India has reported its sales figure for August 2022. The Korean carmaker clocked 22,322 units of sales for the given period. When compared to August 2021 figures, this translates to year-on-year growth of 33.27 per cent. Continuing its healthy performance, Kia again retained its position on the 5 best-selling car makers list.

The Seltos unsurprisingly led Kia India’s healthy performance in the month with 8,652 units. Following the Seltos, the Sonet sold 7,838 units, Carens sold 5,558, and Carnival sold 274 units, respectively. Indicating improved market sentiment, Kia India sold 1,66,167 units in the domestic market in the first 8 months of the calendar year 2022. This is 29 per cent higher than the same period last year. Noteworthy to mention, this figure is much more than the industry growth of approximately 17 per cent.

Seltos And Sonet On The Rise

Kia India has sold over 1,20,000 Seltos and Sonet combined in the first 8 months of the year. Here Seltos has contributed 65,513 units and Sonet with 55,740 units. The three-row SUV, Carens, has also kept its healthy momentum, with a contribution of 42,489 units on average of over 6,000 units each month. Combining exports with its domestic sales, the Kia has crossed the 2.20 Lakh cumulative sales mark this year. In fact, Kia India has recorded its highest-ever monthly export figure, dispatching over 8,100 units in global markets in August 2022.

Kia India And The Way Forward

August of 2022 also marked the 3rd anniversary of Kia’s existence in India. In such a short span of time, the company has surpassed numerous milestones and has also set several benchmarks for the industry. The company has sold a cumulative number of 5.3 Lakh vehicles in domestic markets. This translates to over 6 per cent market share in 3 years of its India journey. Last month, Kia India also celebrated the 3-lakh sales milestone of its maiden product, Seltos. More importantly, Seltos is now the fastest SUV in its segment to attain the milestone within just three years of its launch. Cumulatively, Kia has dispatched over 6.5 lakh units since the start of its sales operations in India.
