Kia India announces its sales report for the month of October 2021. The South Korean car manufacturer sold a total of 16,331 units for the given period. All the three models, Seltos, Sonet and Carnival, are doing equally well in their respective segments. In fact, Seltos was also the best selling midsize SUV for October 2021. The sales figure for the SUV stood at 10,488 units for the given month. Sonet and Carnival accounted for 5,443 and 400 units, respectively. The carmaker did mention the shortage of semiconductor chips in the global market, which is hampering the production of new cars. But still, Kia India did put on some great figures for the last month.
2021 has been quite a happening year for Kia India. The carmaker crossed some remarkable milestones, thus cementing its position in the Indian automotive market. Seltos and Sonet crossed the two lakh and one lakh unit sales figure respectively since their launch. Starting from January to October, Kia India has clocked a total sales of 1,59,641 units. Meanwhile, the figure for the same period last year stood at 1,07,657 units, thus translating to a growth of 48 per cent. Kia thanked the support of customers and vendors in achieving these magical figures. The company has ensured that they will optimize their production so as to serve more customers.
Sources suggest that Kia might bring in a new MPV by early 2022. Spy shots of a test mule emerged on the internet that indicates that the vehicle’s testing is in progress. The front fascia will draw inspiration from the Sonet. Other details visible in the spy shots show roof rails, a shark fin antenna, a wide air dam at front and more. To celebrate Sonet’s 1st anniversary, Kia has launched a special edition. There are some aesthetic updates that make the SUV look much more appealing and sharper. Kia has put on a sticker price of INR 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for this edition.
