Kia India sales cross 8 lakh milestone in 41 months

Kia India has released its latest sales report. The brand clocked the best-ever cumulative sales of 3,36,619 units in CY2022. This translates to a growth of 47.7 per cent over CY2021. The brand’s domestic sales stood at 2,54,556 units thus reporting 40.1 per cent year-over-year growth. Meanwhile, the export figure stood at 82,063 units in CY2022. This healthy growth in sales propelled Kia to achieve 8 Lakh cumulative sales since the start of its sales operation in Aug ’19. For the month of December, Kia India registered 15,184 unit sales in the domestic market with 94.7 per cent year-over-year growth.

2022 Was An Important Year For Kia

Kia India marks CY2022 as a key milestone year. The brand became the top UV (Utility Vehicle) exporter in the country, registering its highest-ever export figure of 82,063 units. For the domestic market, Seltos continues to lead the game. It recently crossed the milestone of selling 1 Lakh units in a single year.

The Seltos registered a total sales of 1,01,569 units in the calendar year 2022. Meanwhile, Sonet reported a total sales of 86,251 units. Carens sold a total of 62,756-unit sales, thus becoming India’s second most-sold family mover for the year. Carnival and EV6 added a healthy 3,550 and 430 units, respectively.

The year 2022 was the best-ever year for Kia India in more ways than one. The growing sales figure reflects the unconditional and unflinching love and support from Indian buyers. Despite various headwinds like geopolitical issues, COVID-induced supply chain obstructions and price increases, Kia managed to register the highest sales ever for the brand in the country.

Kia India And The Road Ahead

Kia is fully now committed to Indian customers thus resulting in a remarkable year for all of us. The outlook for 2023 is bright as the brand will look to carry forward this momentum. Kia will now focus on the ever-changing needs of the evolved customers and bring to them new-age mobility solutions.

CY2022 has been a remarkable year for the brand as the company witnessed several milestone moments. The First of which was kickstarting its EV journey in India with the launch of its flagship EV model, the EV6. Then, the brand completed three years of operations in India. It was a memorable year with 6.22 lakh units of domestic sales and 1.78 lakh units of export since inception. Kia also topped FADA’s Dealer Satisfaction Study during the year, thus taking the title for three years in a row.

Furthermore, Kia also contributed towards building a fast-charging EV infrastructure in the country. It installed India’s first and fastest ‘240kWh’ charger for promoting green technology. Kia India also announced its certified pre-owned (CPO) business to meet the demand for growing personal mobility in the country with a target of having 30 plus outlets at the end of 2022.
