Kia India ramps up production with 3rd shift, will be making 3 lakh cars annually

Kia is fully prepared to increase its production for 2022. As per sources, Kia India’s Anantapur facility will contribute to almost 10 per cent of its global production. This translates to almost 3 to 3.5 lakh vehicles. For last year, i.e. 2021, this facility contributed to almost 8 per cent of the brand’s total global output. Kia’s sales figure in the domestic market is increasing at a very rapid pace. In fact, the carmaker was the fastest-growing carmaker in India for 2021. As per data, Kia India predicts that its sales will grow by almost 33 per cent, which is close to 2,43,000 units for 2022.

From the very initial days, Kia has got everything right. Starting with its wide dealership and sales network. Being a relatively new carmaker, Kia has its presence in almost all corners of the country. This helps in targeting more customers, thus boosting sales. Kia’s selection of vehicles for the launch in India has also been perfect. With the growing demand for SUVs, the Kia has nailed it with the Seltos and Sonet. Both the SUVs are one of the top-selling titles in their respective segment.

With the recently launched Carens, Kia India now has its presence in all the top-selling segments. With the addition of Carens, Kia India now has 4 models in its portfolio. The models are Sonet, Carens, Seltos and Carnival. There has been a significant movement in the EV segment, and hence, we can expect Kia to explore its options. Kia, along with its parent company Hyundai is playing a major role in shaping the Indian automotive sector.
