Kia India bags 19,319 unit domestic sales in January 2022

Kia India announces its sales report for January 2021. The carmaker sold a total of 19,319 units for the given period. This translates to year-over-year growth of 1.4 per cent. Seltos continues to spearhead Kia India’s sales figure. For January 2021, the SUV sold a total of 11,483 units. With these figures, Kia India has solidified its position as one of India’s top-selling carmakers. And this has come at a much faster rate when compared to the other manufacturers.

It has been 30 months since Kia made its debut in the Indian market. For this period, it has sold close to 3.9 lakh units, which is quite an achievement for the relatively new car brand. Kia expects the production to be stable in relation to current market trends. Furthermore, the situation around the semiconductor supply will hopefully improve from the beginning of the second quarter.

Kia Carens – The Most VFM Car In The Country?

Making a blockbuster entry, Kia India yesterday officially revealed the prices for the all-new Carens. Starting at INR 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom), this mouth-watering price tag will be the key USP for Kia to propel the sales of its most recent offering. Although this is an introductory price, and we can expect Kia to increase it by some amount, still the pricing is pretty much spot on. Given the features and engine options, this is a perfect car for a family of 6 or 7 members.

The other options in this segment include the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Mahindra Marazzo and Maruti XL6. But if we compare the features on offer for the top-spec model, we won’t be surprised to see people dumping the Alcazar for Carens. Based on the same platform as the Seltos, Carens is longer by around 225mm. This gives ample room for a third row that is a usable one. Even before the official price reveal of the product, Carens had registered 7,738 bookings in just 24 hours. And now, with this aggressive pricing, all we wait is to see the car in the top-10 selling list very soon.
