Kia India adds 150kWh fast charger for passenger cars in Gurgaon

Kia India is now making its mark in the EV segment. The South Korean carmaker recently inaugurated India’s fastest passenger vehicle charger at its Gurgaon dealership. This DC charging facility is of 150 kWh capacity. With this, we also understand Kia’s commitment to offering world-class mobility solutions.

Kia has now taken its first step toward developing an EV infrastructure in the country. And we also expect the carmaker to include more such charging stations this year. Kia is hopeful of installing a total of 15 such chargers across 12 cities by August 2022. This fast charger can provide 10-80% of charging in less than 42 minutes (may vary depending on the model). Customers can visit the Gurgaon dealership to use the charging by paying as per the usage. Thus, these small steps will aggregate at the later stages in fostering EV adoption in the country.

EV6 – Kia’s Answer For The EV Segment

Kia recently unveiled its global product, EV6, for the Indian market. Based on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) platform that carries the “Opposites United” design philosophy, EV6 looks quite striking. The EV6 offers a range of up to 528 km on a single charge. Thus, range anxiety will be the least of the concerns. To make EV6 a successful product, Kia India is working towards developing charging infrastructure in the country. This will provide a hassle-free ownership experience for its customers. Kia has further confirmed that it will launch its India-centric EV by 2025.

Kia India – A Success Story

Within a very short span of time, Kia has become a household name in the country. The carmaker has already launched a slew of successful products in the market. Notable mentions are, of course, Seltos and Sonet. As of today, Kia India has completed over 5.5 lakh dispatches from its Anantapur plant. This includes 4.5 lakh domestic sales and over 1 lakh exports. With more launches, especially with the EV dimensions getting added, we also expect more sales volume for Kia India.
