Celebrating its EV Day, the South Korean car manufacturer Kia has revealed the specifications of the EV4. The upcoming EV4 is scheduled to be launched in the global market in March. It will be offered in a hatchback and a sedan body options.

Powering the EV4 will be two battery choices – a 58.3 kWh and an 81.4 kWh pack. Both battery options support rapid charging and use a 150 kW electric motor, which will be mounted on the front axle.

While the peak power and torque of these options are currently unknown, the maximum range that the bigger battery will offer is up to 630 km per charge. Meanwhile, the smaller battery will offer a claimed 430 km driving range.

As both battery options will support DC charging, the smaller battery pack can be charged from 10-80 per cent in 29 minutes. However, the bigger battery pack will take 31 minutes to reach the same charging level.

Kia has designed two body styles for the EV4 moniker. The hatchback version will be 4.4 metres in length, while the sedan will get an extended boot, thus taking its length to 4.7 metres.

Kia has scheduled the launch of the EV4 in South Korea next month. More details regarding its cabin, features, and advanced technology will be revealed then.
