Last year, Kia filed patents for the Clavis name in the India intellectual property office. Now, the brand is already testing the Clavis SUV on Indian roads. The spy shots from Hyderabad not only reveal that the Korean brand is testing its car in India, but also reveal some interesting details about the upcoming SUV.
According to sources, the Kia Clavis SUV test mule is likely to be India-specific. Furthermore, spy shots also reveal that the SUV is likely to come with the latest safety tech as well as premium creature comfort features. The images reveal a vertically laid-out light signature which could be housing a triple-LED headlamp unit.
In addition to this, the SUV is likely to get LED DRLs emphasising the vertical front fascia. The Clavis SUV is also likely to come with an imposing grille design though the camouflage covers do not reveal much detail. The rear section of the is also likely to come with a vertical taillamp elements integrated in its C-pillar as well as lights on its bumpers.
Furthermore, spy shots also reveal that the Kia Clavis is also likely to come with camera + radar-based ADAS. The camera system for the ADAS is mounted conventionally on the top centre of the windscreen which the radar unit can be seen on the lower bumper. This also leads us to believe that the Clavis will get functions such as automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers.
The car is also likely to come with a twin-spoke steering wheels similar to the Kia EV6. Also, the Kia Clavis is likely to come with twin-screens on the dashboard, automatic climate control AC, premium upholstery, premium sound system and more. Kia is also likely to offer a comprehensive safety suite with the Clavis on the higher-spec variants.
