Kia India has unveiled the name of its upcoming product, “Carens”, in the Indian market. The brand has announced that Kia will position the new Carens as an all-new Recreational Vehicle (RV), revolutionising the Indian market with a new segment. Kia derives the name from the concept of ‘Car + Renaissance’, signifying the beginning of a new era of vehicles.
Kia has announced that the brand will be introducing the Carens on 16th December 2021. The brand will be targeting modern Indian families with the new RV. The brand also boasts that the Kia Carens will address the unmet needs of Indian customers by offering innovative and inspiring experiences.
What is Kia Carens?
Kia reveals that the Carens will not only redefine the family commuting experience in the country but also offer high-tech features with practicality. The brand reveals that it has put great efforts into developing the Recreational Vehicle. The new Carens will emphasise a family-oriented premium vehicle. The Carens is a unique combination of a large family vehicle with the hardihood of an SUV. The Recreational Vehicle will also come with Kia’s signature innovative and smart technology. Kia India revealed that the new Carens would come with three-row seating. The Carens will come with features specially curated for the Indian urban lifestyle and road conditions.
Kia Carens Production and Launch
Kia India will produce the Carens in the Indian market. The Carens will be a ‘Made in India, Made for the World’ product. The brand has revealed that it will manufacture the Carens at Kia’s state-of-the-art facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Kia will unveil the new product on 16th December 2021, with its market launch scheduled for the first quarter of 2022.
Kia Carens – Product Details
Currently, the brand has not revealed the powertrain details of the Carens, but we speculate that the car will come with both petrol and diesel engine options with automatic and manual gearboxes. However, the teaser of the vehicle shows quirky LED DRLs and wraparound taillamps. The silhouette of the Carens also shows butch but modern SUV looks and an upright stance. Kia will reveal more details closer to its launch.
