Kawasaki India has announced a new 3-year warranty on all its big bikes. This extended warranty, which covers up to 36,000 kilometers, marks an upgrade from the previous 2-year warranty and is expected to solidify Kawasaki’s position in the competitive Indian motorcycle market.
The new 3-year warranty applies to all Kawasaki models sold in India, with the exception of the KX and KLX dirt bike ranges, which are not road-legal. This comprehensive warranty covers a wide array of potential issues, providing peace of mind to riders who invest in Kawasaki’s premium motorcycles.
While the extended warranty is a welcome addition, it comes with a slight increase in the price of Kawasaki motorcycles. On average, prices have risen by approximately INR 10,000 across the lineup. Despite this increase, the added value of an extra year of warranty coverage is expected to be a compelling factor for potential buyers.
Kawasaki has been proactive in the Indian market, launching six new models since January 2024. These include the return of the ZX-6R supersport in Euro 5/BS6 guise, the reintroduction of the Eliminator 500, and the launch of the Ninja 500, which shares its engine with the Eliminator. Additionally, the Z900, Z650RS, and Versys 650 have received updates with new color schemes.
The introduction of the 3-year warranty is part of Kawasaki’s broader strategy to enhance its market presence and customer loyalty in India. By offering a longer warranty period, Kawasaki aims to reassure customers of the durability and reliability of its motorcycles, which is crucial in a market where long-term ownership and maintenance costs are significant considerations.
As the motorcycle market in India continues to grow, such initiatives are likely to play a crucial role in attracting and retaining customers. With a robust lineup of new models and an enhanced warranty offering, Kawasaki is definitely trying to strengthen its foothold in the Indian market.
