Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R coming to India? Under ARAI homologation process

Kawasaki has been super aggressive in the superbike segment lately. The brand has one of the most extensive product line-up, and also very competitively priced. Now, the Japanese brand might be ready to again redefine the Indian supersport motorcycle segment. Kawasaki is planning to introduced the Ninja ZX-6R here in India.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R was recently spotted under homologation process at ARAI. Only bikes which a brand needs approval for a market debut are seen undergoing homologation process. However, there is no official news on whether this bike will be launched, and when. This bike could initially be brought in as a CBU, and eventually will take the CKD route for better pricing if demand exists.

When launched, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R will rival the Triumph Daytona 675 which will also be replaced with the new model, Daytona 765 in due course of time.

The Ninja ZX-6R is powered by a 636cc, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor producing 114.25 HP of power and matched to a 6-speed gearbox of course. The problem with 600cc class motorcycles is that the pricing is very close to litre-class siblings. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R retails at INR 12.80 lakh ex-showroom. So the Ninja ZX-6R will need to stay below the 1 million rupee mark to make a case for itself.
