Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R will produce 60 PS

Written by Nizam Shaikh

The Japnese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki has been rumoured to develop a quarter litre in-line four-cylinder motor and now the according to a media report, the ZX-25R has been claimed to be priced at TBH 2,49,000 to TBH 2,80,000 which comes to around INR 5.85 lakh to INR 6.31 lakhs.

From the price perspective, the ZX-25R is priced at a premium in the quarter-litre segment but the bike clearly wins in the powertrain and equipment department as the competition, the Honda CBR250RR and the Yamaha R3 run a twin-cylinder set up.

The 4-cylinder mill on the ZX-25R is likely to develop around 60PS of power. For comparison, the Honda CBR250RR which is also powered by a quarter litre twin-cylinder inline engine produces 38.7 PS of power and 23.3 Nm of torque, even the current Ninja 300 which is powered by a twin-cylinder 296cc engine produces 39 PS of power and 26 Nm of torque.

Performance wise the engine will be superior in the segment and is likely to redline close to 20,000 RPM. Other than that the bike is likely to receive a slipper assist clutch and an advanced electronics package, that may include, riding modes, traction control, an IMU based cornering ABS system, etc considering the high price.

There is no official confirmation of any kind from the brand but the bike is likely to be under development by Kawasaki and the bike is expected to be unveiled soon.
