During the BS6 transition, Kawasaki discontinued the brand’s answer to Suzuki Hayabusa in the Indian market. While the Hayabusa was relaunched in India in the third-generation avatar. Kawasaki does not plan to bring the ZX-14R to our soil. But the motorcycle still survives in the United States.
Kawasaki has introduced the 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R in the North American market at the price of USD 15,399 MSRP. The motorcycle retails in a single variant and comes with a new colour theme in America. The 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R comes with a Pearl Storm Gray/Metallic Diablo Black colour theme. The theme consists of a grey tank and body panels along with black highlights and red accents.
The King of Quarter-Mile as it is affectionately known in America comes with an enormous 1,441cc engine. The inline four-cylinder engine produces ~ 210 PS of power and ~ 153 Nm of torque. The digitally fuel-injected engine comes with two selectable power modes – Full Power (for peak performance) and Low Power (for milder response). The low power mode delivers approximately 75% of full power output.
The engine sits within a lightweight monocoque aluminium frame and features wind-tunnel-tested aerodynamic bodywork. The motorcycle rides on a 43mm cartridge-type upside-down front fork and bottom-link Uni-Trak rear suspension. Stopping power comes from Dual floating 310mm Brembo with dual radial-mounted Brembo 4-piston M50 monobloc callipers and ABS on the front. The rear gets a single 250mm disc with twin-piston caliper and ABS.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R comes with features such as three-mode Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), a back-torque limiting slipper clutch, a high-grade dashboard-style instruments cluster, stainless steel braided clutch and brake lines etc.
Will Kawasaki bring the Ninja ZX-14R back to the Indian market. We do not know, but the real question is, Do You Want One?
