Kawasaki has unveiled the single-cylinder, Ninja 250SL at the EICMA Show in Milan. This motorcycle will be Kawasaki’s entry level product to the sportsbike world and will slot below the Ninja 300.
Powering the Ninja 250SL is a 249cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke petrol motor with fuel injection producing 26 BHP of power and 22.6 Nm of torque. Engine is mated to a 6 speed gearbox and the bike weighs 151 kg. The bike is built on a trellis frame and gets a 37mm telescopic front fork and a Uni-Trak rear monoshock suspension. It gets a single disc brake at the front and back.
Instrument cluster is an all-digital unit. Interesting addition includes an optional ABS system, which has been dubbed as the world’s smallest ABS unit. Kawasaki still does not offer the Ninja 300 with ABS here in India.
If Kawasaki decides not to bring down the Ninja 250SL in India, the least the Japanese motorcycle maker could do is at least offer ABS in the current Ninja 300 sold in India.
