Kawasaki has launched the MY22 KX450 in the Indian market at the price of INR 8.59 lakh ex-showroom. The brand has announced that the KX450 will be available in a single Lime Green colour. The KX450 holds the flagship position in the KX family and Kawasaki has built the motorcycle to win competitions. The Kawasaki KX450 is targeted towards mid to expert-level riders and to build new expert riders for competition. The KX450 also showcases Team Green’s prowess in terms of innovation, technology, research, performance, and podium position.
The MY22 Kawasaki KX450 comes with a pure enduro design that features function over style. But, with the KX450 there is more than what meets the eye. The KX450 comes with a blank-out space in the place where most road-going vehicles will come with a headlight unit. The blank-out space can be used to stick a custom race patch. The bike comes with a high mount front fender and radiator panels with KX graphics. The side cowling also comes with an empty space for a race number. The bike features gold finish shocks and a high mount exhaust and a bench-style seat.
Powering the KX450 is a 449cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine. The engine comes with a 44mm Keihin throttle body DFI fuel system and Digital CDI with 3 Coupler Option ignition system. The KX450 comes with a 5-speed, return shift, with wet multi-disc clutch and hydraulic clutch actuation.
The Kawasaki KX450 comes with a 49mm inverted telescopic coil-spring fork with 16-way compression damping and 16-way rebound damping. The front fork provides a foot-long (12.0 inches) of travel. On the rear, the KX450 features a Uni-Trak gas-charged shock with piggyback reservoir with dual-range. The rear suspension comes with 4 turns stepless high speed or 19-way low-speed compression damping. The unit also comes with a 22-way rebound damping and adjustable preload and offers more than a foot (12.1 inches) travel.
The Kawasaki KX450 comes with features such as a lightweight aluminium perimeter frame, Launch control mode and Electric start. The bike also comes with a DLC (Diamond-like Carbon) coating on finger-follower, automatic centrifugal decompression system and hydraulic clutch with coned disc spring. The Kawasaki KX450 comes with a Renthal aluminium Fatbar and Kawasaki’s ERGO FIT adjustable handle and footpeg positions.
