WardWizard Innovations and Mobility Ltd, under the brand name ‘Joy e-bike’, sells electric two-wheelers in the country. As a part of its May 2022 performance, the EV maker posted a total sales of 2,055 units. When compared to May 2021, which stood at 479 units, the figure returned growth of 329 per cent. The company mentioned that the growth has been mainly in the low-speed category. But, with the latest introduction in the high-speed segment, the EV maker is doing well on all fronts. With the growing demand for EVs in the country, the brand aims to add more products to meet the customer’s aspirations.
The company’s presence in the high-speed scooter is relatively small when compared to the low-speed segment. Thus, Joy e-bike is focussing more on this segment. The aim is to streamline and strategize the production and begin with the deliveries in a phased manner from June 2022. The production for these models has already begun at the Vadodara facility. With the demand growing strong, the aim is to curtail the waiting period and offer the customers the best product.
Recently, Joy e-bike signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Singapore-based renewable energy management consulting firm Sunkonnect. The companies aim to set up a Li-ion advance cells manufacturing unit at its electric vehicle ancillary cluster in Vadodara. Furthermore, this will also facilitate a feasibility study and identification of potential partners.
Joy e-bike also showcased its entire range of electric two-wheelers at two events. They are namely Electric Vehicle Exposition 2022 in Bangalore and India Auto Show 3.0 in Mumbai. All these events provide a great platform for the companies to showcase their products and make a name in the market. Electric vehicles are the future, and hence we are witnessing a surge in the number of EV makers in the country. Thus, the competition is heating up quite brilliantly, compelling the EV makers to push their limits and come up with their best answers.
