One of the leading manufacturers of electric two-wheelers, WardWizard Innovations and Mobility Ltd., announced to set up an automatic assembly line at Vadodara to increase its production capacity twofold. Under the brand name ‘Joy e-bike’, the company’s new assembly line will be fully operational from October 2021, allowing an annual production capacity of 2 lakh units that can be ramped up to 6 lakh units annually with three shifts depending on the market demand.
Currently having 400 dealerships across the country in Tier-1, Tier-2, Tier-3 cities, the company aims to expand its reach to more than 750 dealerships by the end of the year. WardWizard also achieved its highest monthly sales figure of 2000 units and registered more than 5000 units in August 2021. The company is also confident of breaking sales numbers in the upcoming festive season, as EVs are becoming a necessity.
WardWizard’s primary focus is to provide cleaner and greener mobility options in order to drive forth a positive change. Being the 1st listed entity on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in EV manufacturing, WardWizard aspires to grow beyond its footprint of 25 major cities in India to provide an alternative for traditional ICE bikes.
WardWizard has also announced its acknowledgement of the student subsidy under the Gujarat Agency Development Programme 2021-2022. This has enabled 4 ‘Joy e-bike’ models to receive a subsidy of INR 12000 (ex-showroom), which falls in line with the Gujarat state government’s push for electric vehicles. This scheme will create a buzz among the youth as electric vehicles from WardWizard do not require a driving license nor a registration to ride, making the scheme applicable for students of class IX and above. Recently, the brand also launched a range of electric motorcycles in the Indian market. These are the Joy e-bike Skyline, Hurricane, Thunderbolt and Beast.
