Jeep’s first-ever fully electric SUV coming in 2023

Jeep has revealed the first pictures of the brand’s upcoming SUV in the international market. The new quirky SUV is likely to make its debut next year in the international market and become Jeep’s first all-electric SUV in its portfolio. Like other brand’s Jeep is also planning to electrify its vehicle line up to stay ahead of the future norms.

Jeep Electric Platform

Currently, Jeep has not revealed any details of the new eSUV however reports suggest that the new Jeep electric SUV is likely to use the STLA Small platform. The STLA Small is one of four electric architectures that the parent group Stellantis revealed in the recent past. Under the Stellantis umbrella, the auto maker is likely to introduce close to 14 electric vehicles using the STLA Small, STLA Medium, STLA Large and STLA Frame platforms.

Jeep STLA Small

Adding to the details of the STLA Small platform, reports in the past suggested that the STLA will be based on the eCMP, Group PSA’s electric Common Modular Platform. However, the STLA Small is likely to come with a longer range returning about 500 km to a charge. This is approximately 160 km more than the eCMP. But it is also important to note that both are capable of accommodating battery sizes equal to or more than 37 kWh.

Jeep Electric SUV – Design Highlights

The pictures revealed by Jeep reveal that the new electric SUV will come with a futuristic styling. However, the SUV will still offer Jeep’s timeless design cues. The brand will also incorporate the 7-slat grille and rectangular headlights. In the concept form, the electric SUV features smoked headlamps but the production model is likely to come with dark inserts.

The grille also features a piano black look. The car also features an aggressive front bumper squared-off wheel arches, dual tone colour theme, a progressive roofline and prominent door claddings. Pictures also reveal that the SUV will come with LED taillights with black inserts and an aggressive rear bumper that reverberates with the front.

The brand also announced that it will soon reveal more details on the new Jeep electric SUV.
