Jeep launches 2021 Compass facelift SUV at INR 16.99 lakh

Jeep has launched the new Compass facelift in the Indian market at the starting price of INR 16.99 Lakh ex-showroom, India. At the price, the new facelift model is INR 50,000 more expensive than the predecessor. The brand has also announced that the 2021 Jeep Compass will be available in four trim options with two engine options, two gearbox options and 4×2 and 4×4 drive train options. 

The Jeep Compass starts with the base variant called Sport and is offered with a 1.4-litre Petrol engine priced at INR 16.99 lakh ex-showroom. The Compass also comes with Longitude (O), Limited (O) and a Model S which in the top-of-the-line 2.0-litre diesel automatic transmission and 4×4 drivetrain is priced at INR 28.29 lakh ex-showroom. 

The new Compass facelift features mild changes to the exteriors such as a new radiator grille with a new chrome-accented design, a headlamp cluster with new inserts and integrated LED daytime running lights, a refreshed front bumper, a reworked profile on the rear bumper, new design alloy wheels and a new shade of Green. 

The majority of the changes on the facelift have been done on the inside. The Jeep Compass facelift features a newly designed dashboard, 8-way power-adjustable and ventilated seats, new 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment that comes with the latest user-customizable UConnect 5 interface with OTA update features and new leather upholstery incorporated with the Jeep motif. 

The facelift model also receives new horizontal air-conditioning vents on the fascia, new air conditioning controls, a new steering wheel, newly designed gear selector lever, a 10.25-inch fully digital instruments cluster, a new leather trim, new satin chrome elements on the dashboard, 360-degree camera and auto-dimming IRVMs. 

In the engine department, the 2021 Jeep Compass SUV BS6 emission-compliant 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 163 Hp of power and 250 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic DCT. Another BS6 emissions-compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine is also on offer that makes 173 Hp of power and 350 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed torque converter automatic option. 

Jeep is also expected to launch a Trailhawk version of the Compass at a later stage. It is also speculated that the brand is developing a 7-seater version of the Jeep Compass which is expected to be launched in the near future.
