Jeep India has brought in two special editions of the three-row Meridian SUV. As of now, we do not have the detailed price break-up. But Jeep India it says prices for both special editions will start at INR 33.41 lakh. And the prices will go up to INR 38.47 lakh (ex-showroom). The exact price will depend on the accessory packs selected by the customers.
The Jeep Meridian X and Meridian Upland come with new and unique exterior looks. There are now more body-coloured bits. We also get to see a new set of alloy wheels. Other design highlights include grey inserts and a contrasting grey roof. Customers can have the SUV in two paint shades namely, Silvery Moon and Galaxy Blue.
Coming to the inside, the Jeep Meridian X and the Meridian Upland benefit from new ambient lighting shades and puddle lamps. There’s also a rear entertainment package with a WiFi-enabled 11.6-inch screen. Noteworthy to mention that this accessory is available at a 50 per cent discount on the Meridian X and the Meridian Upland. The standard package also equips a roof carrier, sunshades, side steps, a tyre inflator and unique hood decals.
Both SUVs will get the same 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine. This motor makes 168 HP mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic. Jeep clarified that there are no other mechanical upgrades on the Jeep Meridian X and the Meridian Upland.
Similar to Compass, Jeep manufactures the right-hand-drive Meridian in India for domestic and export sales. Currently, the SUV in India faces tough competition from the more popular options like Toyota Fortuner and the MG Gloster. With the Meridian X and the Meridian Upland special editions, Jeep is aiming to keep the momentum and attract more customers. We also understand that there aren’t any new SUV launches coming up from the brand in the near future.
