Jeep India has made changes to its Meridian SUV lineup. It has discontinued the base variants. As a result, the lineup now starts with the Limited (O) MT variant and retails at INR 32.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The Meridian comes equipped with a 170 HP, 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and is available in Limited (O) and Limited Plus trims. It competes with the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Skoda Kodiaq.
What’s The New Lineup Like?
The new variant lineup of the Jeep Meridian includes the Limited (O) and Limited Plus trims. The Limited (O) is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The manual variant is only available with front-wheel drive. Meanwhile, the automatic variant has the option for a 4×4 system as well. The top-spec Limited Plus trim is available with either front-wheel drive or a 4×4 system, paired with the 9-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, there are limited-edition variants called Meridian X and Meridian Upland, based on the Limited Plus and Limited (O) trims respectively. These will retail until stocks last.
Engine Options
The Jeep Meridian comes with a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine generating 170 HP and 350 Nm of torque. It comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic gearbox, along with the option of front-wheel drive or a 4×4 drivetrain.
Key Features On Offer
In terms of features, the Meridian boasts a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It also includes a 9-speaker Alpine audio system, dual-zone climate control, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, power-adjustable front seats (with memory function for the driver’s seat), ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera. Safety features include six airbags, hill-start assist, and hill-descent control (only available on 4×4 variants).
Meridian And Its Rivals
Competing against the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Skoda Kodiaq, the Jeep Meridian offers a more affordable option in the range. Its prices range from INR 32.95 lakh to INR 38.10 lakh, making it the most budget-friendly choice among its rivals.
