As per the latest rumours, we understand that Jeep may have discontinued the petrol variants of the Compass. Interestingly enough Jeep has not made any official statement regarding this. The SUV in petrol guise was available with both manual and automatic variants. And as we understand, both of them are no longer on sale. But, again maybe this is just a temporary move. Thus, we will wait and watch if Jeep upgrades the engine to comply with BS6 Phase 2 norms.
Jeep Compass – A Brief Overview
The Compass Petrol uses a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. This motor makes 156 BHP and 250 Nm. The engine was available with both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.
Thus, for the time being, the Compass is now only available with the 2.0-litre diesel engine. This engine makes 168 BHP and 350 Nm. For the diesel guise as well, customers get two gearbox options to choose from. This includes a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic with four-wheel drive.
The Jeep Compass has been a pretty well-packaged SUV. Hence, customers have shown their overwhelming love towards the product. Another key aspect of the Compass is its impressive off-road capability. With a decent ground clearance and an advanced traction control system, the SUV is capable of handling mud, snow, gravel, and uneven surfaces.
