The new Sandstorm Edition is being offered as a kit to the customers. This special kit includes custom decals that are stuck over the bonnet and the side quarters of the vehicle, along with a Sandstorm badge on the front fenders.

Additionally, the cabin is enhanced by the new leather seat covers, light colour theme, new mats for the cabin and cargo area, a programmable ambient lighting system, and dash cams on both windshields.

The Sandstorm Edition kit can be had in three variants – Sports, Longitude, and Longitude (O). The pricing of the kit is Rs 50,000 than the standard variants.

Meanwhile, the Jeep Compass continues being powered by the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine that makes 170bhp and 350Nm of peak power and torque. It is mated to the options of a 6-speed manual gearbox or an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

With time, the sales numbers for Compass SUV have gone down. A major factor behind the low sales volume is the lack of an update. However, Jeep has chopped off its plans to introduce the upcoming generation model in India.

The current model is on its last stretch before it gets discontinued in India. The prices for the Compass start from Rs 19 lakh and go up to Rs 32.41 lakh (ex-showroom).

Our verdict

The Compass SUV is a well-put product with a sturdy build quality and a powerful diesel engine. Moreover, its ride quality is exceptional in the segment. However, it has become outdated and the lack of updates is killing it slowly.
