Jawa Motorcycles has announced that bookings for the Perak bobber motorcycle will begin today onwards post 6 pm. The Perak is the only bobber-styled motorcycle built right at the factory level and has no direct competition. The Perak can now be booked for an amount of INR 10,000 and the brand had already announced that it would be priced at INR 1.95 lakh ex-showroom. As was the case with the previous Jawa models launched, deliveries for the Perak will commence at a later date which is now committed to be April 2020. Let’s hope Jawa stays true to their delivery commitment this time with the Perak which is a unique motorcycle for the Indian market.

Powering the Jawa Perak when it was showcased was a 334cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, SI engine producing 30 BHP of power and 31 Nm of torque. The motor will be BS6 compliant and there is a possibility that this same engine would be used in the classic Jawa and Forty Two models with the BS6 deadline arrives. Initially, the plan was that the Perak bobber model will have a higher capacity motor to distinguish itself. But there is no clarity on this yet, we will have to wait for BS6 updates to the other Jawa models.

The Jawa Perak will be sold only as a single-seater motorcycle. There is no provision to install a pillion seat on this bobber motorcycle. The styling is unique and the bke will have the tail lamp installed inside the rider seat housing. Other features include spoked rims, bar end mirrors, tan seat, matte finish paint, gold / bronze decals, short exhaust pipe, large bobber-style rear fender and chrome fuel filler cap.

Meanwhile, Royal Enfield is also gearing up their motorcycles to meet the BS6 emission norms and the updated bikes have started to arrive at dealerships.
