Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has announced a new special edition of its popular Jawa 42 motorcycle. The Jawa 42 ‘Tawang Edition’ will celebrate the Spirit of the region and will be sold exclusively to customers from Arunachal Pradesh and neighbouring region.
These special edition bikes are limited to just 100 units and were unveiled at the Torgya Festival in Tawang by Mr Tsering Tashi, MLA Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, Mr Sonam Chombay, Commissioner to CM and Mr Oken Tayeng, Chairman – Adventure Tour Operator Association of India, NE Chapter. After the unveiling, the officials handed over some of the bikes to the customers.
The Jawa 42 ‘Tawang Edition’ are based off the Jawa 42 Sports Stripe Allstar Black, Taking inspiration from Lungta, the mythical wind horse, the bike features Lungta motif on the fuel tank and front fender along with inscriptions inspired by the region across body panels all around. The Luganta is a part of legends from this region and symbolises prosperity and good fortune.
Powering the new Jawa Forty-Two is a new re-tuned BS6 compliant 293cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, DOHC engine with liquid-cooling, improved electronic fuel injection system and newly improved cross-port technology producing 27.33 PS of power and 27.02 Nm of torque slightly more than the standard. The new motor comes with a constant-mesh 6-speed gearbox. The engine also features a repositioned lambda sensor to keep the engine’s performance consistent and deliver cleaner emissions regardless of road conditions.
The Jawa Forty-Two features a rounded headlamp with an X-shaped grille on the glass and a small flyscreen as an additional fitment. But even as standard the new Jawa Forty-Two comes with Cafe Racer style bar-end mirrors, alloy wheels, tubeless tyres and a trip meter. The motorcycle also comes with new 13-spoke alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres, a redesigned seat pan and cushioning, re-tuned suspension & frame set-up offering better ground clearance and superior handling characteristics.
